Reporting for work (8:17 AM)

Dr. Pruitt

(maybe I should change his name, but hey, that IS his name.  "It is what it is.")

A sately and slow-moving figure walked out of the large meeting room that Thursday night.  He used a cane to steady himself as he made his way across the floor and down a few steps.  His _____-(color) topcoat (too warm for So Cal) and his _________ (style) hat completed the picture.  Beneath that style & image lay a myriad multitude complex weaving of 73 years of riotous living.

Looking back on what happened over the last 6 years, indeed over his whole life, I'm led to wonder what brought Dr. Pruitt to speak to me that day as we walked out of the building.

In short, that day, he offered me a job, which I accepted a few days later.  He apologized for being only able to pay me $20 an hour.

(writing about/capturing this is a huge task which will take much more time than I'm allotting to this "writing exercise" every morning.)

Read a short bio on someone in The New Yorker, and then pattern this article after it.

See which approach I want to take.
